Graduating in December? Apply to speak at commencement

If you are graduating this semester, you can apply for the chance to address your peers during your commencement ceremony on Saturday, Dec. 15. The opportunity is open to undergraduate students and graduate students (master’s degrees and Ph.D.s). Student speakers will be selected through an application and live audition process. To be considered as a finalist for a live audition, apply at provost.mst.edu/commencementstudentspeaker by 8 a.m. Monday, Oct. 1. Application materials include: a four-minute speech (up to 420 words), resume and online application. Selected individuals must formally accept the role in writing by 8 a.m. Monday, Nov. 5. A total of six student commencement speakers will be selected: two undergraduate speakers for each ceremony (one from each college), one master’s degree student and one Ph.D. student.
