Student art award winners announced

The Curtis Laws Wilson Library is pleased to announce the award winners of the fall 2017 Student Art in the Library Exhibition. Judging was done by members of the Art in the Library Committee and Orval Reeves. Mr. Reeves is a local Rolla artist whose paintings have hung in the White House, Governor’s mansion in Missouri, Bank of California, and private collections around the world. The People’s Choice winner was voted on by the visitors of the exhibition.

Peoples’ Choice – Madison E. Bowen, Sloth with Choccy Milk, Acrylic, Awarded $100
Honorable Mention – Ben Palmer, Dawn on the Farm, Acrylic, Awarded $50
Notable Work – Taylor M. Davis, Untitled, Glass, Awarded $20 Gift
Notable Work – Darian H. Emmett, Mending the Break, Digital, Awarded $20 Gift
Notable Work – Erika J. Simple, Peace of Mind, Acrylic, Awarded $20 Gift

A special thanks to the students for their participation and to those that viewed the exhibition. We are looking forward to the pieces the students will submit next semester for our Spring Exhibition. Be on the lookout for more information regarding spring submissions early next year.

The final day to view the art is on Thursday, December 8th.
