Intelligent Systems Center Poster Presentation Winners Announced

Winners for the 13th Annual ISC Poster Presentation were announced on November 1, 2017. The poster presentation, funded by the Intelligent Systems Center, is held each year to offer graduate students the opportunity to present their research results. This year the event was held on November 1, 2017 in the Havener Center and hosted 27 participants. The winners at this year’s symposium were first place: Islam Elnabarawy, for his poster “Evolving Fuzzy Distance Measures for Adaptive Resonance Theory Using a Genetic Programming Hyper-Heuristic”; second place: Krishnan Raghavan, for the poster “Direct Error Driven Learning for Deep Neural Networks in Applications Generating Big Data”; and third place: Wei Li, for poster “DEM-CFD Modeling Analysis of Pre-Mixed Powder Flow in Laser Metal Deposition Process.” Each student will be presented a prize at an award luncheon to be held with the ISC Director, Dr. Ming Leu, Symposium Chair Frank Liou and student advisors Drs. Donald Wunsch and Daniel Tauritz, Jagannathan Sarangapani and Frank Liou.
