Civil engineering leader to speak at Missouri S&T

The new president-elect of the nation’s oldest engineering society will share her vision of the profession’s future in a Missouri S&T guest lecture.

Robin A. Kemper, a senior risk engineering consultant for Zurich Services Corp., will serve as president of the American Society of Civil Engineers starting in 2018. Her lecture, scheduled for 2 p.m. on Oct. 26 in 125 Butler-Carlton Civil Engineering Hall, is being hosted by the Missouri S&T Department of Civil, Architectural and Environmental Engineering.

Kemper’s presentation on “Engineering the future” will include a look at several of the professional society’s key strategic initiatives, including sustainable infrastructure and a strengthening of engineering licensing requirements.
