Food Bank Fight Hunger. Spark Change. Challenge

The Food Bank for Central & Northeast Missouri will be collecting online votes daily through Oct. 5th in a Feeding America campaign called “Fight Hunger Spark Change”.  It’s funded by Walmart which is putting $3 million dollars  into the Feeding America network across the country to reduce food insecurity at food banks and their partner agencies. The Top 50 vote-getting food banks each receive $60,000 at the end of the campaign. If you wish to help, we’re asking for you to reach out to your friends and spread the word. Large voting blocks of people are needed to keep us in the Top 50 in the duration of this 21-day campaign.

The face of hunger is changing every day, and it’s becoming more recognizable. In The Food Bank’s 32-county service area, 1 in every 6 people live below the poverty line; 1 in 5 are children.

128 Food Banks vying to be among the Top 50 Food Banks from Sept. 15-Oct. 5 in the Fight Hunger Spark Change campaign.  When we say, “every vote counts” we mean it…last year in this contest The Food Bank squeaked in with 28 votes to win.

Voting is through Facebook but it’s directed through a special Walmart site:

The reason we would love Rolla’s support is because we have plans to use the funds we win in Phelps county, specifically!!
